Cataphract

The Cataphract stands out as a heavy BattleMech and represents one of the first original designs since the Succession Wars began. Developed under challenging conditions, the Capellan Confederation engineered the Cataphract in 3025, assembling it from parts still within their manufacturing capabilities. Dubbed a 'FrankenMech' due to its unconventional appearance, the Cataphract emerged as a symbol of ingenuity in the face of adversity.
